Our Curriculum

We want our curriculum to embrace social justice: To provide our children with the best opportunities society has to offer. We want our children to have high aspirations and to equip them with the necessary knowledge and understanding to fulfil those aspirations. We believe that no child should be placed at a disadvantage and strive to achieve that goal in our curriculum design.

We want our curriculum to:

Pass on great things that have been thought and said
Prepare children for democratic citizenship
Prepare for the world of work
Empower children to take control of their lives

Knowledge and Enquiry

Research shows that children learn best when lessons focus on the teacher helping children remember and use knowledge alongside elements of enquiry (children exploring and following their own lines of enquiry).

Below is an approximate guide as to how this is broken down across the curriculum.

Pre 2020 Curriculum:

We follow the 2014 National Curriculum, which can be viewed in full by clicking here. For further details and support, please visit curriculum subjects under this menu or view curriculum policies by clicking on the Policies menu.
