First days in Elephant class

Children in Elephant class have been settling into Year One and learning how to use some of the learning resources.  All the children have enjoyed their first few days and are showing great potential.

Well done to all!

Reminders and best wishes

Just a quick reminder that all children in Elephant class need a strong carrier bag labelled with your child’s name before the end of term. This will help us send home your child’s work.

School closes at 1.15pm on Tuesdaythus week.  Children should be collected from classroom doors as normal.

May we take this opportunity to thank you for your support this year and to wish all the children well as they take the next step on their learning journey and move into year 2 .

Have a lovely restful summer break.

Mrs Watts, Mrs Noblett and Mrs Ditchfield

This week we have designed and built our our robots. We have used junk modelling and then paint to add colour and detail.

We have used the computers to build our own interactive robots too!

We are looking forward to writing our robot stories next week. Some of us have begun writing and drawing our ideas already!

Summer Term

We have been very busy Elephants so far this Summer Term!

We had lots of fun learning through our ‘The Great Outdoors’ theme before the half term break. We even brought a bit of the outdoors indoors with our very own reading tent.

We had a fantastic time at ‘Bring Yer Wellies’ in the sunshine. We had a go at pond dipping, we did an assault course, had a cork boat race down a stream, built dens and even toasted marshmallows!

We have just begun our new theme ‘Robots’ and now have enough boxes to begin building our own, so thank you!

Happy Easter

The children and staff from Elephant class would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter !
Here are a few of our Easter Bonnets!
Good luck to all!
Have a good Easter break.
See you all back in school on Tuesday.

Cookery Club

Children from year one have enjoyed their 3rd week of Cookery Club and have made an Easter Box of chocolate Rice Krispie cakes tonight as an Easter present to their families. They have enjoyed making Fresh Fruit Salad and yummy Gingerbread so far.
Next week is our final week and we will make pizzas to bake at home for tea!
Take a look at some of our pictures.
Special thank you to Mrs Vickers for all her help.
Mrs Watts

Healthy Teeth

All the children in Elephant class welcomed our visitor Mrs Williams from the NHS today. She brought lots of fun props and puppets to help them learn about looking after their teeth and visiting the dentist. The children also learnt how to choose healthy snacks and drinks and to keep treats for mealtimes.
Take a look at the fun we had.
