A sunny day in Lytham!

We’re all very grateful that the sun came out for us today, helping us to have an extra special time and lots of seaside fun. Take a look at our pictures. Thank you to all the staff and helpers too!

Experimenting with chalk

Today we’ve used chalk to try to recreate seaside art in the style of Jayne Huskisson, a textile artist who captures her surroundings where she lives in North Wales. We’ll be using these techniques we’ve practised to draw the landscape on our visit to Lytham soon.

Delay in posting blogs…

Unfortunately due to a technical issue with the Gorilla class IPad, Mrs Southgate is unable to post any new blogs until the IPad is fixed. Please bear with us!

Welcome to Gorilla class

Welcome to Gorilla class. We’ve had a busy first week and the children have begun to settle in well. Our topic, the local area, has begun with a letter from the three little pigs telling us that they intend to move to the area in order to escape the Big Bad Wolf! The children will be finding lots of information about their surroundings and writing back. You can see the children identifying and ordering features of the local environment that they think will be most important to them.

Some helpful information for you:
PE is every Monday but it is helpful if kit stays in school all week and is washed over the weekend.
Swimming is every Thursday.
Reading books have been sent home but the colour band they are reading maybe adjusted over the coming weeks. Reading books will normally be changed on Thursdays but please send books into school everyday.

We look forward to meeting you on Monday if you can make it.
